Frequently asked Questions
New to coaching? Not sure how this works? Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and answers. If there are any other questions that you would like answered, please contact me directly.
Coaching is a personal journey and is unique to each individual. What you get out of a session depends a lot on what your goals are and your working style. I adapt each session based on individual needs. However, broadly speaking, before we start the individual sessions, we would:
- Establish your goal for the session and agree on what a successful outcome for the session specifically looks and feels like to you.
- Ask questions to explore the situation from different perspectives. We would also delve into your feelings, thoughts and actions associated with the situation, including past experiences that may inform the present situation.
- Define different options and the resources available to you.
- Agree on your next steps and your action plan to put it in motion.
I am a Leadership and Executive Coach. I work with mid-level and senior executive who want to improve their leadership skills.
When coaching I take a holistic approach. We will focus not only on your professional life, but also any other areas of development that come up for discussion.
Some of the frequent topics of discussion include, but are not limited to:
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Conflict Resolution
- Delegation
- Work Life Balance
Coaching is a journey of self reflection. It does require some preparation on your part. The agenda is yours to create and you might want to reflect on what to focus on prior to the session. For example, what would you like to see different, or change in 6 months? Our coaching conversations will be based on that.
If you are unclear about what exactly you are trying to achieve, I will ask you questions to define the challenge and the associated goal. If there is nothing to discuss on a particular day, or if you need more time to articulate your thoughts, we can reschedule a session.
On your journey there will be sessions where I will help you highlight the progress you have made. You can also use feedback from colleagues, family & friends to assess whether the strategies that you are implementing are having the desired impact.
When appropriate we will use EQ assessments before we start coaching, to highlight the evolution before and after coaching. These may or may not be included in the package that you select.
In a more complex program the coach can also shadow the client in meetings and provide feedback, or collect feedback by meeting peers/colleagues. Please let me know if this is your preference.
There are various ways in which we can determine what is working for you and what is not. However, I don’t provide a “report card” of your progress. Are the coaching sessions beneficial to you? Only you can answer the question through your lived experience.
6 months is an ideal time frame to make progress possible, and it is the minimum time commitment available when coaching with me. Depending on your requirements you can choose from three packages, a summary of which is listed below:
- AWARE – includes 12 biweekly coaching sessions, 45 minutes each, over a period of 6 months
- CHANGE – includes 26 weekly coaching sessions, 30 – 45 minutes each, over a period of 6 months
- EVOLVE – includes 52 weekly coaching sessions, 30 – 45 minutes each, over a period of 12 months

Life gets busy and I understand that sometimes we need to be flexible. I will try my best to accommodate your request to reschedule. However, in order to respect everyone’s time, 48 hours notice from both of us is ideal.
If you miss the 48-hour window to reschedule and have to cancel at the last minute, I will try to find a time for a make-up session, within reason. I cannot guarantee that this will always be possible.
Yes, as per the ICF Code of Ethics, all coaching conversations are confidential. This is outlined in the contract you sign and explained to you in our first meeting.
No, usually no report is provided to the company.
If the coaching is set up to be a three-way contract with your employer, then we will agree upon, ahead of time, the frequency and format of any updates. Any updates will be shared with a designated leader by you, with my support.
I will not share any information directly with your leader, without your consent.
Coaching is an investment that you are making in yourself and your growth. But there are no quick and easy solutions. If you are unhappy with some aspect of the coaching sessions, I hope that you will bring it up and we can try to resolve it. I design all my sessions specific to my clients’ needs and always endeavor to add value to my conversations.
Upon signing the contract you will be expected to make a partial payment for the first 3 months duration. Once we start the coaching sessions this amount will not be refunded.
However, if you decide to discontinue the sessions mid-way, we will suspend the contract and any subsequent payments do not need to be made.
